Weight limitations:

Please be advised of weight limitations of 220 lbs per seat (on 2 person flights), and 185 lbs per seat average (on 3 person flights). Due to high density altitude operations, the pilot in command is responsible for safety; therefore, the pilot will have the final word when it comes to acceptance of passengers. The length of the tour will be considered, as well as the individual weights and the atmospheric conditions.

Age limitations:

No passenger under the age of 2 (two) is allowed to take a helicopter tour. Children must be accompanied during the flight by a parent, guardian, or a person responsible for them.

Handicapped and disabled passengers:

There are no specific limitations for handicapped and/or disabled passengers, but HeliTahoe must be informed in advance about the nature of the handicap. The pilot in command will exercise their authority to accept the customer, in order to maintain the safest of conditions.

Minimum number of passengers per flight:

Each flight performed by HeliTahoe requires at least 2 (two) passengers. Exceptions can be made based on certain circumstances, but not on a regular basis.

Maximum number of passengers per flight:

At the present time, HeliTahoe operates Robinson R44 helicopters. The maximum number of passengers per flight is 3, but is subject to consideration of the individual weights of passengers and duration of the tour. Feasibility of the tour depends on the evaluation made by the pilot in command.

Cancellation policy:

Under normal circumstances, unless the flight has to be cancelled due to adverse weather or unscheduled maintenance, HeliTahoe requires 24-hour notification of a cancellation. In case of no call-no show, the passengers will be charged for the full amount of the tour originally booked. No charges or penalties apply in the instance of adverse weather or of unscheduled maintenance. HeliTahoe will make every effort to reschedule a tour that has been cancelled, in order to accommodate customers.

Emerald Bay Tour:
10 minutes / $70 per person / 2 person minimum per flight


This tour shows you the wonder of Emerald Bay, Fallen Leaf Lake, and the Vikingsholm Castle.

Zephyr Cove Tour:
20 minutes / $140 per person / 2 person minimum per flight


Take to the skies for a spectacular flight over Lake Tahoe's South Shore. Look for the boats dotting the lake beneath you, the surrounding dense forests and the beautiful mountain peaks.

Lake Tahoe Waterfall Tour:
30 minutes / $210 per person / 2 person minimum per flight


HeliTahoe has added a new scenic tour showcasing the stunning waterfalls and cascading ephemerals that are already raging given the recent warm weather and record-setting snowpack. Tours start by encompassing Emerald Bay and Eagle Falls before mirroring the rugged granite hillsides of the Desolation Wilderness, Cascade Falls, Fallen Leaf Falls and Echo Lake. The tour climaxes with close-up views of 800 foot Horsetail Falls and the sheer granite faces of Lover's Leap, a virtual mini-Yosemite only minutes away from Lake Tahoe!

Sand Harbor Tour:
30 minutes / $210 per person / 2 person minimum per flight


Experience the amazing flight from the airport to Stateline and north-bound to the breathtaking Glenbrook Bay, Secret Harbor, Skunk Harbor, and Chimney Beach. Then it is to Sand Harbor, the ultimate destination, before turning around and flying back to South Lake Tahoe Airport. You’ll be admiring Tommy Hilfiger’s stunning house, as well as a host of other famous homes.

Lakewide Tour:
45 minutes / $315 per person / 2 person minimum per flight


See all that Lake Tahoe has to offer on this flight. Departing from the South Lake Tahoe airport, you will head north to the lake. Upon reaching the shoreline, you'll head west towards Camp Richardson and the fabulous Emerald Bay. After circling all of Emerald Bay, your flight will continue northward along the western shore of Lake Tahoe past Meeks Bay and Tahoe City.

You will then take a turn to the east and fly past Kings Beach, Incline Village, and the favorite Lake Tahoe hangout of the Rat Pack…The Cal-Neva Resort. Continuing around and following the shoreline to the south, you be afforded vistas of Cave Rock, Zephyr Cove, and the casinos at Stateline.

Sunset Tour:
