Time Building is essential and HeliTahoe is proud to offer a competitive and unique opportunity to accumulate flight time.
Time Building has always been a notoriously expensive facet of flight training, but not anymore! We are able to offer both domestic and foreign pilots flight time at a very reasonable rate, plus the benefits of a high altitude experience.
What is Time Building and Who Needs it:
Time building is especially important for European pilots, since the JAA requirements are more stringent, and often include a high number of off-airport operations, such as take offs and landings above 2,000 meters (6,560 ft).
In addition, accruing flight hours will definitely make the transition into the helicopter world a lot easier, due to insurance companies and employers continually asking for more. Additional flight hours and more qualifications than ever before are required and pilots need to be prepared.
Our Time Building program will provide the qualifications and hours needed. The highly experienced multilingual instructors of HeliTahoe will put the candidate at ease, with the mission of conveying the maximum amount of skills and knowledge, but keeping in mind the need to minimize Time Building costs.
Why Choose HeliTahoe for Time Building:
If you are a pilot looking to accrue flight hours in one of the most beautiful locations that the United States has to offer and who would enjoy a family-like ambiance, then your decision to train with HeliTahoe will be an easy one. Nowhere else can you find the same combination of experience, location, and impeccable safety records.
HeliTahoe operates two training centers: South Lake Tahoe Airport (CA) and Minden-Tahoe Airport (NV), just a few minutes of flight from each other. The South Lake Tahoe operation is located at 6,264 ft and is surrounded by ridges and peaks well above 10,000 ft. It represents the ideal site for high altitude experience, allowing the candidates to practice numerous confined area operations, pinnacle take off and landings, all within 5 minutes of flight.
What Helicopters are Available at HeliTahoe:
We offer Time Building in a wide selection of helicopters, whether the candidate prefers to fly a Robinson R22 Beta II, a R44 Raven I IFR trainer or a R44 Raven II for high altitude.
How Much Does Time Building Cost:
HeliTahoe is painfully aware of how heavy the burden of accruing flight hours can be. Our program consists of a brief period of familiarization with the aircraft and the surrounding areas, during which our instructors will evaluate the candidate’s skills, proficiency and safety concepts. After this point, the candidate will fly the helicopter by him/herself as Pilot in Command until he/she has attained the desired amount of hours.
