Basic Helicopter
Training
At HeliTahoe Helicopters we chase “Canis Latrans” for living.
In California, Nevada and other remote provinces they are also known as “coyotes”.
HeliTahoe was born in 2005 with the scope of providing first-class helicopter tours, aerial photography, Heli-Weddings, and flight training.
A recent poll has revealed that in the next 3 to 5 years there will be an alarming shortage of “Coyote Chasing Professional Pilots”, and we saw our window of opportunity to satisfy the upcoming demand.
HeliTahoe students are constantly exposed to fast changing mission profiles. The thump-thump and svlat-svlat noise seems to be an excellent means to discourage the coyotes from meandering on the runways. At the time of publication, no coyote has been even slightly harmed and all creatures were well beyond the puberty stage.
Jokes aside, we are proud of our result in terms of instruction.
Lake Tahoe presents a unique and challenging environment, with high altitude and mountain surroundings. Whether you want to learn to fly for pleasure, professionally, or just add a rotorcraft rating to your existing license, come see us. My bio is so short that fits on the back of a stamp.
Flew Hercules C 130 H for about 7,000 hrs and circa 3,000 hrs in rotorcraft. Calls and visits are always welcome.
I basically live in the office 24/7
